BEA can but your name is not printed on the temporary cheques. I think you cannot apply IPO with "no name" cheques.  :o:wondering::oh::reading:

Many banks can issue a temporary cheque book immediately but for applying IPO, you need to show your name on the cheque or issue a bank cheque (which may cost $10 or so).:o:lookaround::reading:

You can type your name on your temporary cheque yourself using
typewriter or printer.

I have used this method on apply the MTR IPO and successfully get
2 hands.
