The dealer will not give you any discount.
Only salesman will give you the rebate from his sweat and blood.

thanks for supported, anyway, I just bought the new Jazz and got 4% discount from the [color=Green][size=3][font=Century Gothic]salesman[/font][/size][/color], $5,000 off from the list price.

i think these are the "bullets" a saleman can give to attract customer, a gesture of goodwill.  and this shouldn't be considered as discount.....:soldier:

[color=Teal]actually... whether there's any "goodwill" depends very much on the popularity of that model...
say... in 2006 when golf gti launched... the salesmen weren't need to sell... they just took orders....
however, beetle wasn't selling well that year... thus, not even $500 oil coupon you'd receive if buying a golf gti, price non-negotiable at all... but if you buy a beetle... u'd have more bargaining power, as a real potential customer...

afterall... it's all about demand and supply... right?[/color]

Do you buy car insurance and join finance program through the salesman?
Since the car commission is only around $1,000, so if he rebate you $5,000 then he earn more than this amount of money.
Can you tell me how much is your insurance? And what is the rate and duration of your H.P. or Leasing progam?

I doubt your discount of HK$5,000- which is a very big amount in this level of cars. :lookaround::lookaround::lookaround:

There is also PRP binding the car selling price by the government. Sometimes, the only way is giving an options free or discount :wondering::wondering::wondering:

If you do take the insurance or leasing/HP from this salesman, it seems still too much at normal price level, unless.......:shutup::shutup::shutup:

According to my experience:

Car commission : $1,000 - $2,000
Insurance Com : $500 (3rd Party), $1000 (Whole cover)
HP/Leasing Com: 10% on interest. i.e 125,000 x 5% x 5 x 10%=$3125.
Subtotal : $  6,125.
Rebate :   $ -5,000.
Grand Total:  $ 1,125.
The salesman may push you to buy "outside" insurance and choose "outside" finance scheme in order to get more commission.
