I read a news item on Appledaily yesterday about a judge questioning an high government official in a blackmail case:

勒 索 X 高 官 案 　 初 見 K 女 郎 X 高 官 ： 暈 浪   唱 一 首 歌 便 開 房:

官 ： 有 冇 懷 疑 過 被 告 呃 過 你 ？ 恕 我 孤 陋 寡 聞 ， 大 學 有 電 子 、 機 電 、 電 腦 、 化 學 工 程 ， 但 我 未 聽 過 有 冷 氣 工 程 。 點 解 冷 氣 工 程 可 以 讀 三 、 四 年 ？
X ： 我 唔 知 ， 但 有 一 次 同 被 告 去 又 一 城 ，  間 餐 廳 個 天 花 露 出 冷 氣 喉 管 ， 佢 講 到 個 設 計 ， 有 紋 有 路 咁.

I am surprised by first, the attitude of the judge, that he thinks he is smarter than somebod by sitting behind the bench, secondly, by his own ignorance. In fact, his ignorance and the way of handling represents a general decline of standard of people behind the justice system.

Air condition engineering, in fact Air condition and refrigeration engineering is a very specialised branch of mechanical engineering.

This is not about your home air conditioner or refrigerator (冷 氣机 工 程）, but in buidling services. So the judge is in fact give an
insult to the specialised profession. So next time before you be a smart ass and mock someone, make sure you did your own research.
