- I think the Star Ferry photo is actually the one on the Hong Kong side, the KCR is the destination of the Ferry, not the location of the ferry pier.
Sorry to interrupt:
1) The pic was taken in 1926 and the locale is Salisbury Road TST Star Ferry
2) The intriguing thing is the "Route #12" as shown on the Thonrycroft (?) single-decker bus. As far as my meagre knowledge can tell, there were only 10 bus routes serving Kowloon pre-1941 and "Route #2" ran from Star Ferry TST- Lai Chi Kok. From the pic, which I also have in my KMB history book, the figure "12" looks very exact leaving out any doubt that the stroke "1" is shadowy.
Expertise in this field to solve my doubt is henceforth most coveted

Not sure which photo you were referring and the questions you have. Which photo has the #2 bus? Can you give more detail?

There were only 9 bus routes operated by KMB in the 40's after WWII. However, the photo was taken in the 20's when public bus was not even franchised, would it be possible there was Route 12 operated by individual bus company?

後來玩電單車了 在坪輋同人鬥快 跌過幾次之後 生命重要唔敢再玩了！

是的，是太古戲院。
冠男酒樓應是七＋年代的事了，其前身是鸞鳳大酒樓，地下是郵政局，巴士都在這里轉入總站的。對面馬路就是淺水碼頭村（pashwawa兄 影番張相留念吓、個“淺水碼頭村＂牌匾應有六十年以上歷史、記得影埋下面几級樓梯）。
東大街和筲箕灣道的交界是在愛秩序街口/柴灣道口 ，卽從這里向東行一個街口。所以冠男酒樓不屬於東大街的。
註：個“淺水碼頭村＂牌匾在○七年中還在的。

以前在筲箕灣的山坡都是木屋區﹐名字都會教會有些關係﹐可能與教會在50年代內地移民潮曾大力參與成立這些社區。

哈哈！金明戲院是拆了舊西灣河街市之后的事了（七十年代中）。專影三級片的。
永華戲院在六十年代中開業、規模一點也不落後、簡陋呀。有超、特等，冷氣、寬闊光猛大堂和小食部等。我在這里看了差利的〝大獨栽者〞，蘇珊希活的〝我要活下去〞和〝神將天兵〞等猛片呀。
金星則更早，但一點也不落后，有超、特等，冷氣、大堂就細得多了。專影首輪粵話片的。我在這兒的公餘場看了〝琉璜島浴血戰〞等等。
樓上的相片該是〝埾十字徑村〞。

Thanks to Pashwawa and Southwest Wind Brother's further info.
Although I only moved to Eastern District in early 80s, I remember Kam Ming Cinema! Yes, that was a place for X-rated movies and there were many "Ham Sup Ah Baak" hanging around. At that time Tai On Building was just at the seaside and those Ah Baak liked to pull up their undershirts facing the sea to 乘涼！！

呵呵！在那區裏永華是當時較現代化的戲院 上映鐵金剛時音響震撼 三個月才落畫 金星也有點氣派 中央的大樓梯兩旁欄的大銅管扶手 有點像鐵達尼號那樘樓梯 印象深刻 筲箕灣戲院放映中段時 放映機溫度過高發生意外 影片被燒熔的過程也映在銀幕上 十分嚇人 長樂戲院在內街 長樂的後山好像還有一條村子 村子的模糊印象似仙境桃花園 這一切一切 現時只有一點一滴地撿回！

同意！西南風兄的描述非常仔細，把我帶回70s。淺水碼頭村牌坊前行有一國貨公司(乜名？)對面就係街坊福利會，柴灣道口就有嘉頓餐廳。

西灣河碼頭 - yes, now the rubbish collection point is the old Saiwanho pier, exactly facing Kei Wan Primary School. Early 80s before the reclamation I took ferries from Kwun Tong to Saiwanho if I missed the ferry to Chai Wan (I lived in Chai Wan during that time). I remember there were many students on the ferry too. Taikoo Delia School 前身叫“聖約翰男女英文書院",many students of that school took the ferry and they revealed that the school was truly a band 5 one!

東大街現存的陸標有聖馬可中学、電車頭、筲箕灣官小和天后廟而已。
比對＃29相片﹕年代應還早一點。碼頭是界乎電車頭和官小之間，所以不會是在〝海防博物館〞的下面。圖中山上的是鯉魚門兵房的–部份。 兩條主要航線是鯉魚門和調景嶺/坑口，每日一班往返浦台島、佛堂門。另有不定時航班往返東龍島，東坪州﹝預約包船﹞。
＃５４相片最有參考價值﹕六二(？)年温黛后(我的一個表姑丈和表弟殁了)，政府搬遷了亞公岩尾的木排和船廠、連南華泳棚也結束了，建成了如相片中的防波堤，小学畢業后(官小第四屆)已很少行東大街了。
＃ｌ３９相片：是聖十字徑村，淺水碼頭村可沒有那般宏偉、密集的。我四至六歲時是住在淺水碼頭村的半山腰。
在那里發吓up風，當年起東大街時，政府對當時的漁民承諾不折天后廟同廟前的一塊風水石(我外公講的)。今日廟前風水石沒了、廟門口比馬路還低了呎半有多，真是豈有此理！
