Lead shot factory, Melbourne, Australia

Picture taken with a point and shoot camera Canon ixus 900Ti.

The tower in the picture is actually a lead shot factory.  Essentially, molten lead was poured down from the top of the tower and due to gravity the material solidifies and form tiny spherical shots that can be used as ammunition for shot guns.

The tower is no longer in use as a factory but is preserved as a museum, right in the middle of a shopping complex.  The architect cleverly enclosed the tower with a cone shaped structure that let light in.  A gpod exmple of preservation and yet allowing the city to progess and modernise at the same time.
