SATA vs IDE/ATA
SATA is a serial interface and IDE/ATA is a parallel interface.
SATA curretly has two formats, 1.5Gbps and 3.0Gbps. The fastest IDE/ATA interface is like 133MB/s x 8 = 1.064Gpbs. I think SATA is a lot faster than IDE/ATA.

SATA2.0理論上雖然比SATA1.0或IDE快，但是為什麼使用者並感覺不到快，我想應該是硬碟的機械物理特性受限吧！目前市面上已經有固態硬碟出現，據說開機進到OS不到一分鐘，真是太棒了，只是那價格不是一般人可以接受的，我的結論是硬碟的速度已經無法從介面來提昇了。

舊年就已經有SATA既DVD writer，我隻HDD同DVD writer都係SATA

I think SATA becomes more and more popular for new computer model while IDE will be weeded out soon.
