AIR FORCE ONE IN SERVICE

Air Force One is the air traffic control call sign of any United States Air Force aircraft carrying the President of the United States.[1] Since 1990, the presidential fleet has consisted of two specifically configured, highly customized Boeing 747-200B series aircraft - tail codes 28000 and 29000 - with Air Force designation VC-25A. While these aircraft are referred to as 'Air Force One' only while the president is on board, the term is commonly used to describe either of the two aircraft normally used and maintained by the U.S. Air Force solely for the president.

When the president needs to fly to locations that have runways too short for the VC-25A, a Boeing C-32 is used instead; the Lockheed C-140 Jetstar was also used in this role, notably by Ronald Reagan.

An Air Force aircraft carrying the Vice President of the United States is designated as Air Force Two.


Though Ronald Reagan's two terms as president saw no major changes to Air Force One, the fabrication of the current 747s began during his presidency. Reagan ordered two identical Boeing 747s to replace the aging 707 that he used for transport.[4] The interior designs were drawn up by First Lady Nancy Reagan, who used designs reminiscent of the American Southwest.[4] The first aircraft was delivered in 1990, during the administration of George H.W. Bush. Delays were experienced to allow for additional work to protect the aircraft from electromagnetic pulse (EMP) effects.

One of the most dramatic episodes aboard Air Force One happened during the 9/11 attacks. President George W. Bush was interrupted at Emma E. Booker Elementary School in Sarasota, Florida, after the attack on the World Trade Center South Tower in New York City. President Bush flew on Air Force One from Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport to Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana and then to Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska before returning to Washington. The next day, officials at the White House and the Justice Department explained that President Bush did this because there was "specific and credible information that the White House and Air Force One were also intended targets."[5] The White House later could not confirm evidence of a threat made against Air Force One, and subsequent investigation found the original claim to be a result of miscommunication.

Historically, several U.S. presidents have flown on Boeing aircraft.

In 1943, President Franklin D. Roosevelt flew to Casablanca aboard a Boeing model 314 Clipper.
In 1962, Boeing introduced U.S. presidents to modern jet transportation with the introduction of the Boeing model 707-320B. In all, seven presidents were served by the 707-320B.
Today, the chief executive flies aboard a specially configured 747-200B, the newest and largest presidential airplane. Its capabilities include:
Longer range for presidential travel
Aerial refueling
Self-sufficiency at airports around the world
The "flying Oval Office" has 4,000 square feet of interior floor space. Among its accommodations are:

Conference/dining room
Quarters for the president and the first lady
An office area for senior staff members
Another office that converts into a medical facility when necessary
Work and rest areas for the presidential staff, media representatives and Air Force crews
Two galleys that can provide 100 meals at one sitting
Multi-frequency radios for air-to-air, air-to-ground and satellite communications
Principal differences between Air Force One and the standard Boeing 747 include state-of-the-art navigation, electronic and communications equipment; its interior configuration and furnishings; self-contained baggage loader; and front and aft air-stairs.

空軍一號（Air Force One）是對搭載美國總統的任何美國空軍飛機的稱呼，被美國人認為是世界上最安全的飛機。此名稱也被某些國家使用，如日本的政府專用機的英文為Japanese Air Force One。也有些地方以此名稱非正式的稱呼元首專機，如台灣。

目前美國總統最常用的是兩架VC-25A飛機，尾號28000和SAM 29000。兩架飛機是改裝過的波音747-2G4B民航機。在28000和SAM 29000於1990年開始服役之前，空軍一號是兩架波音707-320B飛機（VC-137-1），尾號26000和27000，這兩架飛機從1958年起就開始服役。

空軍一號主要改裝了飛機的內部裝潢和設施，以更適合總統在空中行駛其職責，飛機上有休息區、辦公區、兩個廚房、一個手術台、藥物櫃、通訊系統、85部電話和19部電視機等。此外還特別為總統的家人、白宮員工和媒體記者預留了空間。在核戰爭等緊急狀態中，空軍一號也可以成為一個軍事命令中心。此外還加入了空中加油設備以及反地對空導彈系統。

空軍一號的所有飛行都屬於空軍的軍事行動，由位於馬裡蘭州的安德魯空軍基地的總統飛行組負責。從白宮到安德魯空軍基地總統一般先要搭乘美國海軍陸戰隊的專用直升機海軍陸戰隊一號。同樣的，搭承總統的陸軍交通工具稱為陸軍一號，搭承總統的海軍交通工具稱為海軍一號，而搭載總統的民航飛機則被稱為執行一號（Executive One）。

將總統的飛機稱為“空軍一號”是在艾森豪威爾總統時代開始的，主要是為了安全原因。當年有一個擁有與總統飛機同樣代號的民航飛機(代號:8610)正好與總統專機(代號:Air Force 8610)一起進入同一個空域，從此之後總統的飛機就有了一個特殊的名字，藉以和其他航班區別。

兩架總統專機只有當總統在飛機上時才稱為空軍一號。當1974年尼克森總統辭職，然後搭乘總統專機離開安德魯空軍基地時，飛機的代碼被改成了飛機的尾號，只有當繼任的福特總統正式接任後，才恢復了空軍一號的代號。

空軍一號”已經成為總統權力的象徵，她伴隨美國總統多次執行外交任務，並見證了許多歷史性時刻：1963年11月22日，空軍一號SAM 26000將總統約翰·甘迺迪帶到了達拉斯，甘迺迪卻不幸被暗殺(參見甘迺迪遇刺），副總統詹森就是在空軍一號上宣誓繼任美國總統；1972年，空軍一號又陪伴了尼克森總統完成了歷史性的中國之行；2004年、2006年及2007年，在高度保密的狀態下，空軍一號搭載喬治·沃克·布希總統到伊拉克探望駐紮當地的美軍部隊。

Any plane when the President of US get on it will call Air Force One and the pilot will tell the tower that the president is on board now they will call Air Foce One even it is a normal plane or any plane not only 27000/28000 tail coded.........^^

只有總統在機上才可以叫 Air Force One
平時冇總統在機上只叫飛機編号
