My Recent Movies

First post since leaving this forum for 2 years.

Lately I have got tons of time on hand at work so I have checked out a list of movies, some are old, some are new, some are crappy and some are good.

[b][u]I AM LEGEND[/u][/b]
Not a bad movie, felt it was a little slow, but I think that is only because Will Smith doesn't have anyone to talk to in the film. Plot wasn't bad, but things would tie in much better if u have followed up in the book too. It's entertianing zombie movie nonetheless.
However, I think I prefer Will Smith in Wild Wild West or Men In Black, fits better with his cute face.

[u][b]30 DAYS OF NIGHTS[/b][/u]
Personally I didn't like it much, it contains lots of UNNECESSARY violence and images are pretty gruesome. Details do not tie in the whole picture and it's not a very good production on vampires (zombies) or zom-pires?

[b][u]28 DAYS LATER[/u][/b]
Watched too long ago couldn't remember much, but from what I can still remember it's a typical zombie movie without disappointment nor surprise. Acceptable I think, otherwise I probably wouldn't watch the sequel?

[b][u]28 WEEKS LATER[/u][/b]
Again, it was an okay average zombie movie, could give it a try if u are bored. Pretty much like the first one. Overall plot was okay but details sometimes did not make much sense. However, the soundtrack is rather unique and surprisingly I kinda like it.

[b][u]THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL[/u][/b]
I love it! Maybe it's a chick flick with costume drama, but I love the acting of Natalie Portman and characters were portraited well in the movie. Since the movie was obviously based on history so the plot was historical, but definitely not boring. There wasn't any dull moment in the movie and it really shows how important social status is back to those days and how far people are willing to push for it. All in all, I truly enjoyed it.

Different take on the royal family centuries ago in England. Again, historical but I personally do not found it too entertaining.

[b][u]THE SIXTH SENSE[/u][/b]
Real good film! Very cleverly planned out and the twist at the end was awesome! I did not found it scary but the suspense is definitely there. Characters are well developed and emotions in this movie is very delicate and touching. Two thumbs up for this one! I couldn't believe I have waited this long to watch this film.

[b][u]SIGNS[/u][/b]
From the same director of Sixth Sense I was hoping for a good one. But man, it was a waste of time! Don't even bother.
The plot was plain and ending was... well...... unexpectedly dull.

[b][u]CANDYMAN[/u][/b]
Better than expected. I guess you can say it's a deeper horror than the usual "Scream" or "I Know What You Did Last Summer". It is a little mind twisting and I think it's worth watching. From the prospective of a 20 year old movie, it's pretty good.

[b][u]THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT[/u][/b]
Takes a while to understand the movie, and I kinda have to think back couple of times to fully grasp the concept. But this movie is fairly decent, little confusing at the beginning, but will work out all at the end.
Not a bad one, well worth the watch.

[b][u]THE ILLUSIONIST[/u][/b]
Good storyline with a twisted ending. Recommended.

[b][u]9 SONGS[/u][/b]
Glorified porn with bits of rock music in between?! Personally didn't really enjoy it, didn't understand the plot, if there is any?!
Very weird movie with explicit sex scenes.

[b][u]LIFE BEFORE HER EYES[/u][/b]
Not a bad one, but requires some brain work to understand the ending. Could give it a try if you are bored.

[b][u]THE LOVE GURU[/u][/b]
My assistant insisted that I should watch it. I found it extremely boring. Jokes are cheap and pointless. In fact I quited it after 30 minutes. The only thing I found funny was "intimacy = into me I see" and "nowhere = now here" hehee... that was quite funny.

[b][u]KNOCKED UP[/u][/b]
This is a real funny movie, if u just wanna have a good laugh without too much sense, this one is good.
Just don't be serious and u'll enjoy the movie as much as I did.

[b][u]SEX AND THE CITY[/u][/b]
I love it! Nice chick flick, especially if u have been watching the TV series.
There are points in the movie that has truly touched me and it was heart-felted emotions. Recommended.

Well..... I think I have watched more movies than that, but can't remember all of them. Anyway have a good movie time!

I really enjoyed knocked up as well...I def. recommend

I am legend was not bad...the dog thing bothered me.  the biggest let down was the ending, I did not like it at all.  There is an alternate ending to the movie but I haven't seen it so i can't comment on it.

Sixth sense is one of the best suspense movie..agree with the 2:verygood: up!!

Signs I think the director has really gone downhill now.  The latest flick, which I saw, The Happening is more like...'what the hell is happening here?'  I give him props for being creative but his movies might have been better off to let someone else to direct..
