$988 for two... good photos, but nearly $1000, i can have quite a good couple's lunch at L'Atelier @ Landmark. is the quality that good in an upstairs shop in a small building near Hillier st to compare prices with Soho? or is it just another "Wut 錢" meal because it's uses words like love so close to Valentine's Day? any free roses or champagne? or just one free "crystal" glass? 8oz. veal cutlet, salmon tartar, using cheap rocket lettuce as dipping sauce and what seems like a LOT of bread. unless the copycat Boulliabaise(using China Crayfish as seen in the photo) and the Fois Gras are f--king amazing, what's worth more than $150 in this meal? or $250 if you account for Soho rent prices, which that part of Sheung Wan is not...
(Haagen Dazs in Hangzhou were giving away beautiful champagne flutes for ordering a huge christmas ice cream fondue that only cost around 180 RMB. Starbucks lets you keep the cute little red porcelain cups from their chocolate mousse this last christmas season for something like $25 a cup. ...)
i hate people pretending western crap = high grade. it's not as if it's served on Wedgwood bone china plates and what not... so excuse me if i don't buy this BS.
edit: checked real photos taken in the shop via Openrice (and reviewed some of the opinions of the reviewers there). yes, it's yet another shop that OL will love because of the atmosphere, rather than the food... with all due consideration, one will probably enjoy themselves with "atmosphere" and pay less at that fake Vietnamese place in World Trade Center called Paper Moon. however, non-valentine prices seem quite a bit more normal, around $150 lunch & $250-350 per person for dinner, so it maybe worth a try, but one should expect Agnes B quality food and service. from the photos, it looks as though their pan work is garbage, but their oven work might be worth a try. as for desserts, you might want to head down to Das Gute in 西港城 (only 1 block west from there).
