1958年八月生於好萊塢的Belinda Carlisle，自小受到加州流行廣播電台播放的音樂影響頗深。她說：「我常常藉音樂來逃避現實生活。長大後，我才發現了別種在收音機聽
不到的音樂。」曾在傳奇樂團Germs擔任短期鼓手的Belinda Carlisle，後來組成了五人女子團體The Go-Go’s。The Go-Go’s出現後，不但震撼各地樂迷，並為世人帶來一連串包
括〈Beauty And The Beat〉、〈I’ve Got The Beat〉等排行金曲，並且成為第一個登上全美告示牌排行榜的女聲團體，為女性樂團在流行樂壇打下新天地。然而，真正讓Belina
Carlisle開始享譽國季的，卻是1987年她個人第二張專輯《天上人間Heaven On Earth》的首支單曲〈Heaven Is A Place On Earth〉。
1987年，這首出自Rick Nowels及Ellen Shipley共同創作，堪稱Belina Carlisle成名代表金曲之一的〈Heaven Is A Place On Earth〉，推出後，隨即攀上英美等全球八國單
曲冠軍！也接連帶動專輯《Heaven On Earth》拿下英美專輯榜冠軍。對於這首成名代表金曲，Belina Carlisle說：「這首歌不只是首歌，它代表的是一個轉捩點，一個在天時地
利，時機合宜出現的一首歌。它是一首具有神秘力量的歌。」而在台灣，這首歌更隨著汽車廠商的廣告選用，唱進了每個五、六年級青春年少的經典回憶裡。除了這首冠軍單曲，
