又一 Pomerol Wine - La Croix St.-Georges 2000

Again Pomerol wine. First time to try this wine which gives me deep impression.

TN: Very deep purple in colour , almost opaque, oaky, very strong cassis aroma, first sip, wow, powerful, very
        powerful, a structural wine, very full-bodied, special bitter chocolate taste, the abundant fruit  as well as
        layers of ripe tannins cascade your taste buds and you don't  feel burn despite the high alc. content. Finish
        goes on and on. Compared with l'eglise-clinet 95', this one won my heart. Both in price and quality. Highly
        recommended.

        Should have bought some more. BTW, I 've read about comments on this wine in the book written by 麥
        X 才 who had made lukewarm remarks and said this was only so so. I disagree!

not sure if it is the vintage's effect
for the vintages i have tasted (forget it was 98 or 99, and the other one was 2002)
the wine is really just so-so and rather parkerized
the heavily oaked taste is just like California wines...

if 2000 is performing that nice, i am interested to get one for a try

C hing, I agree with you that the vintage 2000 plays an important role on this obscure chateau so that she performed this well. Undoubtedly, vintage is  crucial to a  wine, especially a claret. So I always stick to buying  wines which come from excellent to outstanding vintages strategy.

my strategy are;
1) good vintage, drink fair chateau , even good chateau second wine, to get most value.
2) poor vintage, drink prestigous chateau with cheaper price.  the wine should be good still.
