Chateau Pontet Canet 06'
Opened the captioned for comparsion of 06 clarets. A wonderful pairing of food, especially with the soy sauce goose which is a famous dish at Dongguan. Starting to pay attention to this chateau since 94' that was highly praised by Parker. And then 95', 96' and so on.
TN: Dark crimson, nearly opaque, but reluctant nose, a mediumweight boxer. Nonetheless, a very young wine. So tannic but not aggressive, Tobacco, cassis, currant... Its nice acidity gives a firm backbone to the wine. Should be cellared for more years. BTW, my preference for 06' wines Pichon Lalande>Montrose>Pontet Canet>GPL

It's also reflected in the price:
Pichon Lalande>Montrose>Pontet Canet>GPL
Anyway, Pontet 2006 is a very good effort for that chateau, among the best for past 10 yrs.
