吳先瑩(Sharon Ng)，小學於聖公會基德小學就讀，中學就讀於可立中學，曾任校內交通安全隊隊員，其後考進香港中文大學新聞及傳播學系，並在二年級(1998年)時，與同學方東昇及柯碧君到無綫電視新聞部實習，由於表現出色，她於翌年畢業後獲聘用為全職記者，2001年升為主播，並於2003年開始擔任六點半新聞報導主播。

吳先瑩於2005年考獲獎學金到英國修讀碩士課程，翌年回歸無線，但她卻於2007年2月離開無綫，轉投香港總商會任職公關傳訊經理。

另外，吳先瑩的妹妹吳先玲是她的前同事方東昇的妻子。
