[size=4][color=Blue]由於諾曼第上有許多如人高的濯木叢,為進攻的美軍和車輛增添了不少障礙阻力,如果叫坦克車爬上去把濯木壓下來,就會提升了坦克高度而變成敵方火力目標,所以最好就是找個可以像剪草機的東西來把濯木排除,當時在現場的一位第 29 裝甲師的坦克成員 Charles Green 少尉,找來了在沙灘上德國用來當反登陸的鐵材,叫工兵幫手鋸個合適尺寸下來,再焊在 M4 坦克前方,就倣成了這個可以割草的 M4 "犀牛" (M4 Rhino) 坦克了.

[size=4][color=Blue]上面說的 M4 坦克變型車基本上都是屬於工程車,下面這個就是攻擊型的了.它是在一架 M4 坦克的炮塔上另外裝上一個有 60 支 114mm(4.5") 火箭發射架的一個 "帶火箭坦克" ,不過它不叫 M4 ,而是叫做 "T34" ,但由於它都是以 M4 坦克的外型出現,而且又是由美軍自己研發,因此都算是正式的 M4 坦克變型車.[/color][/size]

[size=4][color=Blue]講到呢度, M4 坦克和家族成員包括仍以 M4 為牌頭既各式車型可以算係講完,美國佬以 M4 坦克底盤改裝既其他車輛,例如係 M7 自走炮, M10 反坦戰車,同 M32 救援車等,雖然都係用左 M4 底盤,但因為已經唔再叫 M4 ,所以在此不提了.而另外非美國產品的 M4 車,例如英國佬整既 Sherman BARV(裝甲海事救援車) 等,亦已超出坦克戰車之列,所以都唔响呢度再講勒.
由於當然上面既內容一定有不足同錯漏既地方,希望各位見到一定要開聲指教.[/color][/size]

[size=4][color=Blue]由於 M4 坦克有眾多旁支型號,有時一下子實在是分不清家族成員的樣子,因此現在試試再次重溫一下各種 M4 坦克的外型特徵.
首先出場的當然是 M4 ,它是有一個鑄鐵炮塔,一門 75mm 主炮,和一個焊鐵車身.[/color][/size]

[size=4][color=Blue]初期的 M4 坦克的前車身是用三件組件用螺杆合成,後來才出現一件整體式車殼.

下面這一架 M4 的右面車殼上另外加焊上兩件鐵板,用作增加防彈能力,前面有個星星的地方是副駕駛員兼機槍手的位置,而後面那一件鐵板就是 75 炮彈倉作在.另外炮塔右側都加了一件鐵板,那是車長亞頭的坐位,當然要醒多一件啦.而車頭正前方的兩件鐵板位置,就是右方的副駕和左方的正駕哥哥.[/color][/size]

[size=4][color=Blue]M4 之後就是 M4A1 了, M4A1 是眾多 M4 坦克中最易認的,因為它有一個圓滑的鑄鐵車殼.其實當初 M4 坦克的樣車和首批投產的車子,本來就是用鑄鐵做車體,但因為鑄鐵工序繁工時長,於是就把鑄鐵車殼改為焊鐵,加快生產量.反過來把正牌的鑄鐵 M4 改叫 M4A1 ,後上的焊鐵車殼反而坐正叫 M4 坦克.[/color][/size]

[size=4][color=Blue]M4A2 出場了,事實上在外型上來看, M4A2 和 M4 根本就是一樣,唯一不同就是二者的引擎有別, M4 , M4A1 用的是佳士拿 R975 電油車頭,而 M4A2 是在 M4 坦克上改換上兩台通用的 GM 6046 油渣引擎.
不過如果眼利的話,從二者側身去觀察都可以分得出 M4 和 M4A2 ,因為 M4 坦克正前方裝甲斜度為 56 ,而 M4A2 再斜一點,是 47 度,相差了 9 度你又可以看得出來嗎?[/color][/size]

[size=4][color=Blue]M4A4 坦克外型跟 M4 和 M4A2 很相似,唯一不同的就是 M4A4 因為改用了引擎而加長車身,在沒有其他實物比較下是很難把 M4A4 坦克認出來.
不過 M4A4 有兩個特點,就是 :
( 1 ) 只有配備 75 炮.

[size=4][color=Blue]M4A4 說完了就沒什麼可再說啦,因為 接著下來的 M4A5 只是加拿大版的 M4 ,根本算不上是美國產品,美國軍方也從沒有用過 RAM 上戰場,所以不能算在 M4 的份上來.
而 M4 坦克一系中最後一個產品就是 M4A6 ,雖然這是貨價實的美國 M4 貨,不過在生產初期就叫停了,而 M4A6 仍從沒去過戰場,所以也是不用提.[/color][/size]
