新年時, 全家族第一代到日本, 其中不少 因國仇家恨, 第一次踏足日本. 最仇日既, 幾日後, 都要承認人家國民質素高.

當然，日本人從來沒有承認說，他們是敗在中國手下的。正因為他們覺得，戰勝他們的是美國──不是中國；儘管儀式上，他們要向中國陸軍司令何應欽呈遞降書。打從心底�堙A他們從沒有服氣；也所以，他們從沒有真正尊敬中國人。
我相信，這樣的觀察，離事實不遠。

競爭是無可避免
二戰後，冷戰的序局，佈下了今天的形勢，使東亞的角力場，沒有基本的改變。加上地緣政治的考量，使中日兩國的競爭──武裝的還是非武裝的，成為無結局的連載劇。早年日本公開支持台獨，宣揚台灣地位未定論；近年宣稱日本擁有「尖閣群島」，都是插曲。

人的因素最重要
沒有災民到鄰居破壞的報道。沒有災民到商戶搶掠的報道。
在政府開放的庇護場所�堙A祖母給幼兒餵食飯糰；不見驚恐啕號。水還未退，躲在房頂等候救援的，一個一個輪着次序，步上民防廳的橡皮筏，又一個一個的登岸。也沒有一把眼淚一把鼻涕的。
在市區，千萬人湧到馬路上，沒有惶亂失措，也沒有人踩踏人致傷亡的報道。救護車輛駛出，大家自然的讓路，使車能通過。沒有慌失，也沒有張狂。
你會說，他們一年到頭演習，知所應變，因為訓練有素。好說了。甚麼叫好的國民素質，甚麼是優秀的國民教育？還不是訓練有素？
兩國相爭，長遠來說，人的因素至為重要。如果我們明白到，中日角力，根本無可避免，那麼我們要清楚知道，我們在跟怎樣的人在競爭。
知己知彼，未必百勝，卻實在必須。[i]:verygood: [/i]。
