It is boring for junior but not senior such as Finance Director or CFO.
Senior accouting posts are working as management team. You need to know the information you are handling is foundation of management database.
Don't look down the profession!

If you consider it as job, not your interest; you would not have such a feeling. In my opinion, job is work for living.
Should you have relevant skills and professional knowledge; you will be better off as long as your work experience widens and deepens. Your career path will not limited to accounting only; you can also be external auditor, internal auditor, financial professional, etc with proper training and industry development.

Not too safe. I prefer having cash and invest in short-term liquid market. Right now, I can earn 6.5% per annum in AUD. See the HK$20m article under Finance section. ;P:):hamsup:
