1968年法國**前夕，孿生姐弟伊莎貝拉（伊娃•格林）和雷奧（路易斯•加瑞爾）因為電影，與來自美國的留學生馬休（邁克爾•皮特）成為好朋友。姐弟兩人將馬休帶到家中做客時，馬休得到兩人同是大學教授的父母的喜愛，住進他們家中，慢慢地，他喜歡上伊莎貝拉。
