農曆新年快到，與其用「花紅」買「豬年」禮物，倒不如抽「豬年」新股。除了於明日截止公開認購的㶅源果汁（1886）及鴻隆控股（1383），以及本周三截止認購的中國地產（1838）外，計劃來港集資最多3億美元（折合約23.3億港元）的馬來西亞林業公司三林環球，將於今日展開投資者推介，並會於農曆新年後二月二十三日（正月初六）正式招股，三月掛牌上市。 三林環球創辦人丘德星為馬來西亞拿督，於當地擁有龐大的林業資產，市場消息指，三林環球計劃發售10億股，九成國際配售，一成在港公開認購，發售的股份佔公司擴大後股本25%。 業務獨特獲基金青睞
完成招股後，大股東丘德星家族持股量將降至62%，另外六名股東則續持有13%股權。 過去兩年三林環球盈利增長不俗，○五年度才不過4,000多萬美元，預計○六年度可增至7,200萬美元。證券業人士表示，由於三林環球的業務獨特，料可繼㶅源果汁後，獲基金經理的青睞。 至於㶅源果汁、鴻隆及中國地產因為認購日期重疊，投資者只可「三選一」，輝立證券分析員謝思進認為，㶅源果汁最具投資價值，除其具有內需概念，又有品牌優勢，公司享較高毛利率，唯一缺點是現估值偏高，但他估計，㶅源目標價短期可見約8元，較招股價上限的6元有33%上升空間。

Gunns Limited (GNS) is a Tasmanian based, fully integrated hardwood forest products company and is Australias largest forestry company. Operations are based on state government owned hardwood forests and company and third party owned plantations. GNS is one of the largest suppliers of hardwood woodchip to Asian pulp mills with Japanese mills accounting for over 60% of all woodchip exports. Other activities include swan timber and veneers, local hardware merchandising and construction and managed investment schemes involved in forestry and viticulture sectors.

Gunns is a growth company I am monitoring and with dividend around 5% per year and u can see its price is generally rising over the years. Its price dropped a lot last year becoz of Australia's government intervention for the protection of forest in Tasmania. But the intervention gives me a good chance to buy.

I also hear that Harvard University's own funding invests a lot in the forestry industry.

So I do think the forestry industry is good, but not sure abt the 三林's company. 三林 should be in a much smaller scale than Gunns. Also, I don't think 三林 will give 5% dividend.

If I cannot subscribe many of the 三林 for quick return becoz of the IPO effect, I'll look into Gunns again.

But is it doing forest business currently??? What 金威集團 did in the past? Is it a shell company but injected with only concept and idea???
