Damn it.  Made the wrong decision again.

I applied 500K + 500K + 2 million.

Originally, the last lot was for 3 million shares in group B, but decided at the last minute to switch $2 million to Huiyuan for fear of a full allocation from #1383.  What a stupid thought.

That's where the problem lies.

If I had applied 3 million as originally planned, I would have got 60K shares plus lucky draw (2.1%).  Now with 2 million application, I only get 20K (1%).  I would have got 40K shares more @ 20% gain.

This is a reversal from #546 where my group B allocation was lower than the top of Group A allocation, not only in % terms but also in absolute # of shares.

But the profit was $8K vs. the $36K I almost got  I treat the IPO as a cash machine, and this time when I went to withdraw $36K, only $8K came out from the machine and I was short-changed.

It was a good thinking to pick #1383 ahead of #1886, but the execution was poor.

I chose #1886 over #1383 which seems to be stragetically wrong, only a few thousands shares allocated out of over a million shares I applied. And, I sold it all at the first day of trading not waste my time follow the price of it.

I figured I needed 50% to breakeven on #1886 if in Group B.  So I switched to #1383.  I was told #1886's Peers have a PE 30% higher.  So I thought the upside was around 30%.  Could never imagine that it rose in excess of 60%.

It works out ok for me as I have 2,000 shares and 1,500 shares out of my 350K and 200K application respectively.  So the cost is somewhere between 15% to 25%.
