Most folks here seem to care more about ravishing, spoiling, or even completely destroying somebody's fancy footwear

Now how about this: reconditioning the footwear?

Not easy, and can be tricky; also success depends on upper material type
But when properly executed, the footwear can look like new from the outside -- and thus presentable under formal occasions
