Green Ladies find (Charles David)
In HK it is extremely difficult to locate and scout proper dress pumps these days
Simply put, it's just IMPOSSIBLE
A casual visit at the usual local thrift store (ie. Salvation Army, Greenpeace) and other mass item swapping occasions (esp. Jup Yeah) would only yield any other fancy shoe styles... but no proper pumps
Only until recently were a pair of Charles David light beige patent pumps being spotted at Green Ladies...
Almost perfect candidate for customer ownership except for one big caveat: patent upper and patent wrapped heel (not personal favourite)
And the patent uppers are not too well maintained (a little sticky here and there, needs cleaning and surface reconditioning)
Had these been in nappa (or similar) leather this pair would've been long gone
Unknown style (anyone knows?) but footwear has probably been some years old, due to old "Charles David" logo being used
Country of origin unknown (but probably NOT Chinkland -- some current styles are indeed made in Chinkland)
Again, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness such footwear and craftsmanship... at a thrift store
And this is what other members should be focusing on, instead of other sub-par, sub-grade shoe type (low height heels, block heels, flats, wedges, platformed heels, ballerinas etc. etc.), and should be regarded as a benchmark in this sub-Forum
Any thoughts?
