AICPA and HKICPA
Hi all!
I'm an accounting student in the United States... I'm graduating in a year so I really need to start thinking about what I wanna do in the future... I have one question for you guys! If i wanna come back and work in HongKong, is it okay if i got my CPA license in the States? Or is it better to take the exam in HongKong? But I looked up the requirements on the HKICPA website. They are just so complicated! It seems so much easier to take the CPA exam here!
So yeah... I'd really appreciate it if you guys could answer my question:clap:

If you are targeting a career development in commercial environment, being a US CPA is good. There are more and more US or US listed companies in HK and China need a US qualified accountant to understand USGAAP accounting and SOX compliance.
You may log on the HICPA web site to check the procedure for a US CPA to obtain HK CPA designation. It is because some local employers still stick to employ HKICPA members.
