hello all,
does anyone here still using film cameras??
it's rare nowaday to discus with someone who still has rage to put a film camera out for shooting!!

please share with us, what film camera are you still shooting!

hey, i used this camera longtime before too!!!! it's a very good one!! better construction than the FA i have owned before.
but i have traded it to go to the range finder world!

my 1st range finder camera was a contax G1.... a mistake.... it was not for me...
the finder is too dark, the AF miss target all the time... quite noisy motors...
but the zeiss lenses are sharp and good.

wahoo, x-300 is an excellent camera! i think it was the minolta best time product!
simple, small, light weight, mechanical!
i was still student when i had to make a choice between a x-300 and a FA...
i took a FA...
but the way i used camera was too hard for it... it didn't last long after the 1st year in europe... switched to F-801s.

Certainly buddy, Minolta X-300, X-700, XD-7 Series are all good cameras.

小弟唔同意閣下所講，換個角度黎睇我地應該高興至o岩呀！

你睇下而家我地可以用好低價錢就能夠買到好多款以前o既貴價機、頂級機，實在係好抵嫁！

其實就算新款 digital camera 又點，轉款同跌價太快太快啦

好似兩日前行落去九X生活探人兼打牙較，知道 Canon EOS 350D 連鏡頭已經跌到大約 $4800，

你想像下幾個月之前 350D 有咩可能以呢個價買到呢，齋 body 都未得啦！

其實我已經將手頭上o既相機鏡頭數量盡量減少，Nikon, Contax 全部都賣出晒，仲賣埋幾支Canon EF 鏡添。

I still have a Canon EOS 3000V plus a few EFS & Tamron lenses. I carry this when I feel the need to have trust worthy back up to my Canon 30D DSLR.

I am now still using the Canon New F-1 and FD 85mm 1.2L. Although the camera is a 20 years old model, the picture it take is still excellent. The picture that take from digital camera still cannot compare with film camera. Furher I don't like the feeling of taking photograph by digital camera, it look like drawing picture instead of taking photograph.

I am using Nikon F2. I am a fan of film cam. I think there is not a big difference for a amateur between using D-Cam and F-Cam today la. But I enjoy the moment to see the photo from the paper bag.

有 15 Fish Eye, 24, 28, 35, 200, A-1, AE-1, T90.....etc.
Mamiya RB67 機同鏡都有得放
我有成幾套家下小用放晒係到

i suggest you built a camera museum, he he he!
i have 4 leica cameras, all purchased in these 2 years time, he he he, when everyone is chasing behind the digital gears. i moved from AF, automatic, motorize camera to total manual and mechanical shutter. 3 of them don't even have a light meter inside.

cameras without AF, no automatic programmes, no TTL flash, no through the lens mirror, no flash memory, no egonormic handle, no motors, no 1/4000 speed... do you really think that the new generation photo amateurs or professional will look for such stuffs????
some younger ones even never thought that such cameras still exsite... ha ha ha!!!

keep these mechanical cameras!! you will see, when the world comes to the end where there is no more oil, no more electricity and battery... when everyone is out of power and energy and couldn't record no more raw file... your cameras still work and take pictures!!!
PS. hope that at that time film still exsite.... ha haha!!!!

Rollei 120 70 年果期果 D 我有兩套你 arm 唔 arm?
Nikon F2 個 Motor, Canon A1 Motor 連機身我都有, 你要原裝水底 housing 我都有
唔 arm Sinar 4 x 5 呀我有架多左

Lecia 同款我冇 double so 唔會賣.....

ha ha, actually, i don't think that i need more than 2 cameras... i'm a user, not collectioner...

i did dream for a Sina F2 when i was still student of art in france... the rolls royce of camera, he he

but now even a SLR camera i find is too big for me... range finder is my choice!

you still use 4x5'' camera??

The picture is not bad but there is some small mistake. When we take photograh about the sea, we must pay attention to the horizontal line. In this picture the horizontal line is distored. And usually the horizontal line is put on the Upper 1/3 or lower 1/3

yes, absolutely agree. though i am still in the beginner level. but What I am pursuing is the photograghy technique and skill. combine different lens and use different type of film to create your own image.

I think film camera bring me more fun and make me feel more enjoyable during shooting rather than using D-SLR. though it is not as convenient and efficient as D-SLR. But I think people who like (leisure) photography must be willing to spend more time on produing the quality work rather than producing the quantity gwa.

識你廿九幾年我都唔知....真係失覺曬!!!!!

小弟都有用緊EOS5 同Contax RTS II
鏡頭已經不多了,都是幾支舊 o野...如 20mm-35mm F2.8L,80mm-200mm F2.8L,28mm-70mm F2.6(contax35mm F1.4-德)

Actually, I like D200 a bit better. At least, the build quality is very similar to my F-100.

The D80 is too small to my hand. However, the price difference between those two cameras is around $3000.

That's why I am still thinking which one to get.

I am a die hard analogue camera user, although I never own a Leica...

In fact, I started with FM2 in high school and had mainly used it since then.
Today, I prefer more medium format camera, because I like to spend time to compose pictures. I am currently using Mamiya RZ67, Rolleifles TLR, Fuji 6x9. There are rather cheap now, compare to 10 years ago. I strongly recommend analogue user to work on this format, because it's very affordable now.

I also have a collection of cameras. Nikon N6006, F3, F4, Nikonmat FT3 (3 units , 2 chrome and 1 black body), quite a number of Nikkor lens 20mm 2.8, 28mm 2.0, 55mm 1.8, 55mm 2.0, 105mm 2.5, 200mm 4.0 35-70mm 2.8 AF & 80-200mm 2.8 AF Leica M2 with 90mm, 50mm & 35mm 3.5mm, Zeiss Ikon Super Ikonta III folder (Red T* 75mm 3.5), Yashica 635D, Bronica 645 and even a Kiev 60 with 75, 90 & 250mm lens - immensely heavy.

Just did'nt aware I have so much.

You need some guts to use them again since they are quite huge and people will come arround to see what kind of "digital" camera you've got.

I used to take pictures of my daughters, but when they have grown up, they will turn away from my camera whenever I pick one. The nikkormat stil has film inside its body! I believe its been 1 year from now.

Totally agreed and supported the opinion of dcat. There is no free lunch for photograph. Good picture depends on technique, lenes and camera. However the most important thing is technique. Nowadays many DSLR users even do not have the basic skill in photography. They just take take take and delete delete delete. I feel disappointed that the Leica manufactured a digital M8. They still need to follow the trend of the commercial world. I think people who know photography will only buy the M6.
