The scene is the first one I can find so far, near Tank Lane (水池巷). Many of these shops are so familiar to me, as I have been living on 2/F of No. 9 of Upper Lascar Row for the first decade of my birth. My dad was also running a shop at the junction of Upper Lascar Row & Tung Street, moving in later years to 171 Hollywood Road and another one at Ladder Street, with a third branch in Tsimshatsui. All these shops closed down when my dad passed away in the late 1970's.

BTW, I have never found a photo of Lower Lascar Row,which ran east-westwards from Ladder Street to Queen's Road / Possession Street, in the vicinity of the then Foo Lung Tea House (富隆茶居) and Kam Wah Restaurant (金華酒家).

Any kaifong living around there?
