試下英文作句

試下作:
John 在地下鐵站和兩個人吵架, 結果被其中一人用刀當場刺死.

如果反應好, 就會多出一點新題目. 希望可以幫大家作句時會用鬼佬的思考方式

If "knife" is to be used, try "from a single stab wound inflicted by a knife".

其實, 以下的兩種說法都是正確的:

"An altercation between John and two men broke out in the MTR station. John was stabbed by one of the men and died instantly."
or
"John died instantly from a single stab wound following an altercation with two men at the mtr station."

John 和人爭執和John被人插死, 應先說哪一件事呢? - 視乎你討論的重點何在, 和你的聽眾是誰.

如果你認為這個故事可以循序複述出來, 那就使用前者.

如果你想劈頭就講John被殺一事, 後者絕對無問題.

另外還有一點. Stab 通常都是用刀的. 除非你知道你的聽眾對那殺人凶器有興趣, 否則大可偋棄那knife字.

我不是英語高手，只是以 reader ｏ既角度比ｄ意見。

用 "instantly" 感覺上好似有 d 怪，好似「瞬間即死」ｏ甘。
而且句子太長，有ｄ臃腫，一句說話想講太多ｏ夥。

我都覺得長左d. 不過內容就唔係太多.

今日問個仔, 佢話 "John died instantly from a single stab wound following an altercation with two men at the mtr station." 就明白. stab attack 就暗示了是刀.

Owing to the poor corporate business achievement last year, the restructuring and the manpower reduction to certain departments will probably be implemented apart from no salary increment for this year.

The annual report shows the company has failed to achieve a satisfactory business performance last year. All annual pay rise and performance review will be suspended until the completion of the restructuring on some poor performed departments.

對不起, 我是先寫好英文再翻中文. 我原作的那一句是一個美麗謊言, 希望留下的人的士氣不會受打擊, 所以給他們有渺茫的加薪希望. Restructuring 包含了縮水裁員的意思, 所以 redundancy就省略了.
