beautiful works. I think the filter does make quite a difference.

thanks, tenzob!! after i tried the 4-star.. i was mumbling why i didn't bring my 8-star filter with me.. >.<

only the 1st one was taken without tripod, here's the exif summary for the 1st photo:
camera: canon 5D
lens: EF 17-40mm f/4L
exposure: 4sec
aperture: f/18
iso: 200
focal length: 33mm
anchor: without tripod

i made use of the bench nearby
took the cushioning pads out from my camera bag
place my camera bag on the bench
stack up the cushioning pads for holding the lens at the right angle
and kept trying lor... that's how i got this photo.

for the other 2, i did use a tripod... how could i brought it into the olympic park? haha...
i've been thinking of this question for many days... and finally i made it thru on my last nite in beijing..
i found that the security level of the east-side entrance is the lowest among all 3 entrances...
so, i purposely went thru that entrance on sat nite, both my cameras (5D & 40D) could go in and no one inspected my bag..
however, my tripod wasn't that lucky.. so i let the security guard to keep it for me and collect it back after the game..
so i went back to the security after watching the competition... he wanted me to leave the park immediately..
but i told him that i want to leave by the olympic line (地鐵) which is inside the olympic park..
and i said the games are over and i couldn't take photos of any competitions la... then he said.. ok la, don't take it out wor..
OK, OK, i won't take it out..... only after i finished taking what i want.. hahaha..
then i went to the bridge and took the 2nd and 3rd photos lor!
the exposure of both the 2nd and 3rd photos was 25sec...

I so envy you that you can spend time to visit Beijing and to enjoy the atmoshere of Olympic Game. of course, you can take a lot of good pictures.
