Lately Lily's been making news more for music than bloggerrhea: collabing with Kaiser Chiefs, turning out bits from her forthcoming It's Not Me, It's You, etc. As she's said, Lil's "trying to do this album with integrity, and I want you all to know that it has been thought about by me, not just some thrown together last minute industry bullshizz." To wit, "The Fear" is a retitled and touched up version of the synthy demo we heard in April, then titled "I Don't Know." As we said then, "gone is the party bounce, the ska doobies, and syncopated cadences that marked her breakthrough material," but this new wave of Lily material's catchy, and subversively clever as ever.
