I heard that my brother's friend bought several contracts of accumlators fm a PB. He had around HK$30M asset before, but now he had only around HK$10M left after 1st quarter.
I was asked to buy the accumulator contract 3 years ago by a PB. But when I further asked the worst case, I thought the downside loss was unlimited but upside gain was very little, so I ignored the product for years... Now the news bring back my memory.
So next time, if u are asked to buy a new product, the sales (I consider the PB banker is only salesperson) will tell u how profitable the product is. But u should ask the touch-ground case and see if u can accept the risk. If one has no luck, the touch-ground cases are always with him.
Accumulators are very good tools in the bullish market (buying shares at 10%-20% discount), but investors will PK if in the bearish market.
It is not good to be a Professional Investor (PI). In case if u are mis-leaded or not provided with enough info, u are not protected.
