In order to have a good check on their operations and quality of workers, my group visited the place on a quiet day.

To give them a surprise visit, we went there before 6pm. There were many 產品裝配员 (DJ) sitting at the entrance. One of them said “these inspectors came so early!!”. Since we had an appointment with the line长 , we were brought to the 營業部after a long walk. The room # is 3X7.
裝配部
This was a small room, since there were only 3 of us. Room was a bit run-down and only one display monitor was there (no LCD). Hardware was not as good as factories in CP (like Tao Y, Hui H, etc) but on par with R C. The 產品裝配员 came in, a fat one but with some nice smile. We accepted since we cared more about the quality of工人.
Line supervisor finally came after 5 min. With no time wasted, we asked her to bring in 工人. They had nice red air-ventilating uniforms, good for them so that they would not feel hot (the factory owner is quite caring). To ensure that they could do the 裝配, 上色,注塑, easily, they did not wear any restrictive clothing, which were good. . Unfortunately, this 1st batch did not pass our screening test and were rejected immediately. Another batch was sent in but unfortunately, they were no better than the 1st batch. My friends and I were quite disappointed since we found much better quality in CP factories. line长 also showed some impatience but still worked hard to bring in more. It was good that we finally got what we wanted and line长 also recommended one “毛饭”工人 to me who I gladly accepted.
裝配測试
we had chosen 6 workers to test their knowledge, skills and commitment on the SOPs. With 1 hour of warm-up, workers started to show their devotion to “get the job done” . In fact, these workers had started to do things out of the SOPs, engaged us to inspect their work with our hands and mouth. The inspection became very interactive and we did have a thorough inspection. We were surprised since these workers were more hardworking than those in CP and we finally found that we forgot to turn to page 2 of the SOPs here, which mentioned that “workers needs to engage inspectors with passion inside the裝配部”.
After an hour or two, Line 长 came in and asked “are the workers doing OK?”. We said “yes”. Since we all needed to go back to SZ/HK/GZ tonight for various reasons, we had to rush the inspection of the上色注塑技能 to give a fair and full evaluation of workers.
上色注塑測试
we were brought to the 版房 for a quick test. The room was relatively new and well decorated (sample room standard), with 2 big mirrors good. For detailed testing, we would suggest to bring samples to outside lab for a detailed evaluation. My chosen worker had not disappointed me with some very skillful 上色技術. More importantly, it was not mechanical and you could feel that she did it with heart (at least she pretended well). I felt that the test rod was well painted and she knew that it was the time to have the ultimate test: the注塑技術. As a demanding inspector, I asked for various 注塑角度, and my dear worker fulfilled all the tests with a smile. I started to treat her not like a normal worker, but a worker in my factory! With the large mirrors, I could also see the facial expression of worker, telling me that she enjoyed her work. The test was completed in XX min (not to be disclosed, my secret) and she passed with high marks!! It was a nice surprise since from my CP experiences, those good at 裝配部 might failed big times at版房. Satisfied, I put a tick on the last checkbox and the three of us gathered at the lobby with smiles on our face. We shared the good news to line长 and she was happy.
It is our 1st trip to CA factory and although the factory conditions and workers’ outlook are not as good as CP in general, the workers’ attitudes are better. The interactive session at 裝配部 is also an attraction. A definite ‘revisit” for our group.
