A misunderstood patroit
Thanks for the contribution. I think a lot of people, myself included, have the misconception that 李鴻章 was a traitor, whom had signed those treaties and pushed the end of 大清. History seem to have given him that verdict. Not until the last few years, when I started to read recent histories of the Motherland, do I start to find out that maybe not all of it is true. In fact, I think most of it is untrue. Thanks to your insightful posting, that further verify that Mr. 李鴻章 was actually very patroitic, whom had dedicated his life to his country and his people. I think it's about time that historians give him a fair verdict, and write more accurately about his life and times.
