劇情簡介 · · · · · · 宇宙飛船邱吉爾號接近哈雷彗星，欲探知其內部構造。船長湯姆•卡爾森（Steve Railsback 飾）帶領一組隊員走出船艙，發現彗星內部藏有一艘廢棄的飛船，內有多具奇怪生物的干屍以及三個沉睡在水晶棺內的人類。為解開其中奧秘，湯姆下令將他們帶回飛船。
三十天後，空無一人的邱吉爾號飛臨地球，航天總署派出哥倫比亞號與之對接。宇航員在船中發現焚燒的痕跡和那三個沉睡之人，而機組成員全部死亡。回到地球後，三個人中的女性（Mathilda May 飾）突然蘇醒，吸取了年輕守衛的精氣。之後守衛變成干屍，並最終風化。不久其他兩人蘇醒，似乎一場災難正降臨地球……
