[疑難] To Toyko in Mid-Jun 07 for 4 days, any advice?

To Toyko in Mid-Jun 07 for 4 days, any advice?

Hello,

I want to go to Tokyo alone in mid-Jun 04 for 4 days.  Would you give me some ideas what travel agency(ies)/ others offer(s) the most cost-effective flight ticket+hotel? as I know the price is significantly increasing in face of the end of public exams.

Thanks so much!

err... where are you?  HK? Taiwan? Singapore? Vancouver?  more info plz.

in HK i think it's better to follow a trustworthy travel agency, so any of the big ones like Hong Tai or Wing On should be ok.  the cheap tours are almost all forced into disney or other theme parks, eat crap, sleep in crap hotels, so i really don't suggest going on cheap tours.  have you been to japan before?

this website gives you a general idea of what room prices are like, most hotels in Japan you can book directly yourself, or get your local travel agency to book for you and see if they can get a discount.

go http://www.wingontravel.com/ and search for Tokyo package deals.  cheap ones fly Dragonair only around $3199HK, but they are either 3 or 5 days.

Thanks Mox for your info.

I have been to Hokkaido, but not Tokyo.
This time, plan to travel to Tokyo from HK as will get some days of annual leaves in mid-Jun.

Will check out the the details from the 2 sites you suggest.  Thanks.

if you can, try to make it 5 days so you have 3 full days over there.  Tokyo is a huge place with lots of places to visit in regards to whatever you want to look for (traditional, cultural, scenery, tech, cute girls/boys, theme park, adult entertainment, ...)

tokyo hotel rates have gone up quite dramatically in the past year or so...  the cheap local business hotels went from 5000yen to around 6500yen(same time period, different year) so i would definitely suggest getting a trustworthy travel agency to get you a good discount on the hotel rates.  (they have people who speak japanese to talk to the hotels.  non-japanese speakers will always get a higher price for rooms in japan)

if you want something in the middle of things, there's a hotel about 2 blocks away from the Pokemon Center that i've stayed at before.  it's tiny but clean and tidy, and the hotel staff are very friendly.  It's called Yaesu Terminal Hotel (Nihonbashi district, a block away from the main entrance of Tokyo Station)

their english website here:
http://www.yth.jp/english/
prices over 10000yen for single rooms listed.  but before i stayed there the prices were only around 6500yen.  a good travel agency should be able to get under 7000yen for you.  i had japanese customers who helped me book rooms when i was there for conventions.
