I've also spent 13-14 years in the US. I think it all depends on what a man wants. If he wants to stay overseas, whether it is career-wise or relationship-wise, he has to integrate with the local culture. If he wants to stick to his own Chinese culture: be humble, not agressive, etc., then it is still okay. My experience is that not all North Americans are like pswong said so, some remain pretty conservative, even more than us Chinese, for example, those folks in the mid-west and smaller towns. Of course, we would only see those noisy guys and couples while we may easily miss those quiet people. I've lots of friends from Hong Kong, China and Taiwan marrying American gals. It is not so grey for men in N America. As for my returning to HK, well, the money is greener and easier to make here than over there.
