      何苦來由?
     fatyin 168兄 同 Paul +0803兄,這句話是三十几年前一個觀音寺(大嶼山 羌山大澳道)的老和尚對一斑自  視為 '空虛' , '徬徨' 和 '不開心快樂'的年青人說的.

      何苦來由?
      願各位同知共監.

My question is, can religion makes people more happy or less unhappy. It is a relative speaking. Life may be happy or unhappy, or sometimes happy and sometimes unhappy. Same as a pain curer medicine, if you have a headheache, you want to take a pain control medicine to lower your pain, it may not cure your real sickness, but at least give you some relief.

唔會!

有信仰(有神論或無神論)只會令生活忙碌一點,充實一點點.

"信仰(有神論或無神論)"不是藥; 工具/手段;  捷徑....等等.

Medicine works in many differnece ways.
It can be use as a curing media such as antibotic which either induce your body's immuse system or change yoour body environment to kill the bacteria or gems.
It can also be a media to suppress your body's reaction to make your fell more comfortible such as if you got a flu your doctor will give you medicine to suppress your running nose, headache etc. The medicine will not kill flu virus.

Difference sickness need different medicine. People with difference body condition would have difference effectiveness for same medicine. Try to find the medcine best for yourself either by your oner experience or advise from some reliable professionals.
More cautious, over dosage of medicine would be harmful.

Would religious be similar??

我還是那句話:
"信仰(有神論或無神論)"不是藥; 工具/手段;  捷徑....等等.


另一方面,有論者認為:
"信仰(有神論或無神論)"是藥,是思想的麻醉藥***.Yes,你會開心一點.引用閣下的話:_
"More cautious, over dosage of medicine(drug) would be harmful(killed)."

藥***.(註)原論者用詞是"DRUG",譯者(不是我)用詞是"毒藥".作者和出處都忘了,很久之前的事了.

Another question,is it essential for life?

I think it's not essential but it may improve your quality of life, (Happiness), if you handle it properly.
