A story of day transiting to night

A sequence of 5 photos recording the transition of day to night 17 February 2008 - Camera Canon 40D Lenses EFS17-85 UMS IS, EF 70 - 300 mm USM IS.  Pictures are taken from the same location (give or take 500 m):

Pic1- later afternoon. the tiny dot you see in the sky is not the Sun, it is the Moon!

Wow, do you use a tripod?

I should have used a tripod - but I am lazy on that day and I got away with all done with hand held shots!  Especially thr shot with the moon - hand held, with body and arms resting on a wall - set a modest ISO 200 (I think).  The thing with the moon is that if you are using a telephoto and set the exposure to centre-weight you will find that the moon is surprising well lit by the sun and if you have image stablisation you can get away with murder (so to speak).
