Mr Lee Ying Kee 李應記 (1900 -1989) was also one of the founders of the Kowloon Chamber of Commerce.  He had 17 children.  The Original Shop was located in 615 Shanghai Street Mongkok (opposite Langham Place now, i.e.  where Po Sang Bank is!)  The current shop moved in Choi Hung Estate in 1962 and is since then operated by the 3rd Son of old Mr Lee.

李占记”创始人叫李兰馨。19世纪末，年少的李兰馨在香港上环一间叫李应记的钟表店当学徒

My Grandmother did live in Sheung Wan when she was very young!   But it said during the end of 19th C., well, both my grandfather & mother were not even born then!!!  There could be something wrong in describing the date!

李應記 did have a branch in Ting On Street , Ngau tau kok during the 1970s!
It was operated by  Mr 李應記's Second Son, who was also living in Choi Hung Estate, (4/Fl. Tse Mei Hse)  Their family moved to Canada in late 1980s!  My Uncle is still alive today!

最近回了老居一躺, 感慨良多!

先發一張停車場照, 在孩童的年代, “停車場”對我們的意思只指”停車場天台遊樂場”, 那時候要擁有一台汽車是遙不可及的事.  那年暑假, 晚飯過後爸媽帶我們幾姊弟往停車場天台”踐雪屐”, 爸媽就坐在一旁乘涼; 當年無線正上影”書劍”, 我們在停車場天台也可聽到家家戶戶電視機傳來” 啊啊啊~啊啊啊…”的開場曲!  一個暑假就是這樣開心地過去.



記不起在那年,"停車場天台"被塗上代表彩虹的顏色.
