Basically, the prospect of the whole construction trade is not good in HK. I studied buiding services engineering and have been working in E&M construction fiield over ten years. The basic salary is not attractive, but the work load is really heavy. The most important factor you need to think is very often the year end bonus is little even nil. It is because the "rule of game" in tendering the project/job in many cases is to award the contract, the tender price shall be the lowest. The price will be so low to make zero profit even loss.
By the way, if you are really interested in construction field, my opinion is civil and structural engineering rather than architectural. Reason will be issued next time if you are interested to know
