Referring to the news release on 9 July on BRK's website, Warren Buffet donated over 500,000 BRK Class B shares to five foundations for charity. My speculation is that reducing a small portion of 857 could be rebalancing the portfolio for Berkshire Hathaway. The charity donation could be used for offsetting the capital gain from selling 857.
