The price  is  likely to be $10.30   in the opening day................ a gain of 50 %.

No, did not use margin. My friend applied 1 lot on line (eIPO) and got 1 hand. So lucky!

I am thinking equally on two.
For me, other things being equal, I will be inclined to split them equally.  Better still if you have more than one account.  The allocation 90% of the time favors the smaller subscribers.  But then if the two IPOs are many (3 to 6 days) days apart, and again other things being equal, I will be inclined to put all the money in the earlier one, so that the money will be returned earlier, and in time for the next IPO that may come up.

Why not?  Me too.  I used up all my resources, including hundred of thousand of personal loans, for the IPO.  Like this one (1393), one gain can pay off 2 years of loan interest.

Before, I thought this one would be over-subscribed a lot and the allocation rate would be low.

My broker had advised me to bet on this one over #1393 as its size is much bigger ($10.4 billion) vs. #1393's $4 billion, therefore, allocation is better.

I took his advice and put most of my bet with this one but fortunately after that, I still got some petty cash left and had put them in #1393.

I'll prefer to put more $ on larger IPO as I should be able to get more allocation of shares.

For those which are very small but hot for around >600 times over-subscription, I'll try to avoid by using margin as I might get only 0.5% allocation, which is "no-meat-to-eat" unless u expect it to raise 40% or more.

But you will never know how many will guarantee 1,,, if I drawed 30 lots, it might change to 50, if I drawed 50, it might be 100,,,

Again, I tried 20 lots for the paper's IPO respectively for my wife and myself,,,, let see if I could get anything this time!!!

20 lots?  You just have to try harder next time.  

This is too good an opportunity to try just 20 lots.

What kind of maths is that?  This is one of the most profitable IPO (based on day 1 opening or closing) even with the least allocation.
