D3配備了藝康開發的大幅尺寸CMOS影像感應器，具有1,210萬有效像素，標準設定下感光度範圍為ISO 200-6400。D3的影像感應器尺寸是統稱 ”35毫米大幅尺寸” 的 36 x 23.9 毫米，這種新的影像感應器的影像格式稱為 ” FX格式”。

in summary:

9 shot per second, can up to 12 shot per second with correct gear and adjustments

ISO6400 = clear enough to see details in a dark window from a picture taken in a bright room. see the video below

170 degree mini-monitor angle, excellent camera for dogs(paparazzis) from Apple Daily.

我記得spec好似係 2條 CF I/II slot, 包唔包容 UDMA 就唔清楚, but 一定可以1張相同步jpeg save去a卡, rawsave去b卡.

D3 is more value of money,
Top of the Nikon range
It is a FF.
Cost just $34,800 RRP (You might get $33K in retail shop)

1D mark3 is reasonable price range.
Not full frame (x1.3)
Cost arounf $32,000
for FF, you need 1Ds mark3 cost you around $60K

Also depends on whether you have brought a number of lens from each brand.

Not really.
Last time D200 first release got serious bugs problem.
Even after several patches upgrade still not yet resolve all issues.

My advice:
Don't buy first shipment.
Wait for a few months of test reviews and other users feedback.
Maybe a patch or two updates before purchase.

Even top 1d mark3 also have found bugs after it release.
Now got a patch you can download from their website to fix found issue.

Need to cross our fingers.

Excellent advice! That is also my decision after acquiring experiences through several previous new products.I will never buy the first shipment of any electronic products.

You can buy D3 at all authorize shops now.
Such as Wing Shing, Boardway....etc.
Depends on stocks.

Since $34,800 RRP is an aggressive price compare 1D mark3.
If you really need one,
it certainly worth consider.

$34K price tag definitely not for everyone.
But if you really afford it and don't mind to pay such premium price.
You won't regret it.
Supply is very limited now as most places out of stock.

D2Xs 雖然也不錯，
但是層次感同 FF 既 D3 根本完全唔同，
加上 D2Xs Noice 一去到 iso800 就已經出事，
iso400 絕對係極限，
iso500-640 效果麻麻地。

The full frame sensor, the noise reduction capability, the sensor quality etc really sets D3 apart from no-professional cameras.  Yes, it demands a high (too high for many of us), but for that the performance are stagerring.  I have read reports and seen results of photographs taken with D3 during an opera (extremely low lighting condition) - with ISO25600 - noise is unavoidable but it is quite accetable.  It is possible for us to take digital photographs at low light with given light - hand held!  I have stretched my Canon40D to the limit - ISO800 but beyond that I am really not happy with the results.

Horses for courses - D3 is for those with deep pockets, or for the pro that relies on their equipment to earn a living.

I have handled the D3 on one occasion and I must say I like the feel of quality - overall feel all the way down to the high resolution LCD screen.

經過個多星期的等待，
Nikon 終於為 D3 推出了修正版韌體，
最新版本為 Ver. 1.11。

新韌體主要是解決了 ver. 1.10 在特定設定下會導致影像檔案損毀的問題。
Firmware 分別設有 Windows 與 Mac 版，
用家可直接從 Nikon 的官方網站下載更新。

I had seen the sample photographs taken, and was very much impressed by their quality and unique sharpness: see http://www.dcfever.com/cameras/viewsamples.php?set=252&picture=1772.

Given the bugs now facing Canon EOS 5D Mark II, this Nikon D3 might be a better buy.  Perhaps, we, the Nikon lovers, should keep our fingers across hoping not to have any bugs with Nikon D3, or if there are any, they be resolved quickly.
