HI........LONG TIME NO SEE, HOW YOU KEEPING.......MEANS YOUR GAMES. WITH R7 IRON SET...... IS THAT STEEL SHAFT? IF IS STEEL SHAFT, MOST NEW R7 USE SOFT TIP FOR NOW, SO ABOUT SAME DISTANCE AND HIGH BALL FLIGHT........I WILL SAY A......YES, BUT ACCTURATE WILL HELP YOUR GAME. GOOD BUY.

It is Steel Shaft. No, I don't have a chance to play it on course yet, but feel good and better control on driving range.
How's you test?

I have changed my Driver recently to PING - G10, it is very good feeling and stable

He he, Wrong person KK, it wasn't me who need to do the Exam, It was Waku's boyfriend.
I am looking for a driver too, I was plan to get the old R7 460 but there are none in left handed (in both Canada and U.S). So still shop for next one. hmmm PING might be a good choice. I see the review on Gof Digets and the 3 wood has better rating then drivers for equipement of the year. But Driver still have very hight rating too.
R7 CG driver to match my clubs, but too expensive for a driver.

Hmmmm ahhhhh.

Do you going to driving range during the Winter time? Where?

Sorry, too long I didn't show up here and I think I am getting old

In HK is NOT too bad comparing to Canada or USA, it is NO problem to go out for Driving Range or even playing a game

I have 18 holes last week in the very early morning, it was real cold (actually it is around +8 or +9 degree

) and windy without sun. And, I kept my sweater and jacket for the whole game

I never tried R7 before, but I heard the comments is good, anyway I enjoy the stable performance of my new PING G10

Ha ha..Just got a new Driver (Talyor Made SuperQuad). Anyone have any comments on it.....have not have a chance to use it.......yet. Got this one instead of R7 425, is that it cost $226 for it and R7 460 SuperQuad is $398. Well...a bit expensive, but I properly will use it for the rest of my golf gam life.

But now, it is only 9 holes available for public starting from 20 Mar 08

From Golf magazine, the comments is good

(as good as my G10

Both The R7 driver and irons are very good. I have more consistent hit and hit higher. Looking forthward to play on the course.......3 to 4 more weeks to wait.

R7 should be good, wait for your on-course report

My G10 is better and better, very consistent and longer in distance

But my approaching shot is still NO so good, NOT consistent (maybe I gave too much pressure to myself)

Last weekend, I have played 45 in the first 9 holes and I wanted to get below 90 but I became unstable

Finally, it was so terrible - 95

(Only 1 birdie and 1 par, I have missed several par chance

)

....hope will able to break 100 on par 72 on coming season.....

OIC, snow is problem, and it is NO good to stop for several months which need to re-start everything again

I like Tam O'Shanter

Lots of big trees and lakes which is very nice

What is your average score

If you can play regularly and practice regularly it is NO problem to break through 100

I found the fee is NOT expensive (even cheaper than HK public courses which I ususally play) , they are public courses

I came Toronta one time only, and didn't try any golf course

just happened to check out this thread....golf courses just started to re-open this week, more to come in the next 2 weeks...and you can pratice outdoor now, that is a good news!!!!

hey dude,

if you logon to LMG, you will see the direction, it's on south western side of GTA, I live near 404, so I usually play around that area, Maple of Ballantrae is one of them....sounds like we need to go back to the Golf Dome for the weekend and let's see how it goes next week....

The course you play a little bit pricey for me. I am usually pay around $50 green fee courses.
The weather is good coming Saturday (maybe Sunday too) and lot of courses already open fo the season.
After I found Luanch Golf Centre I perfer go there instead of the dome. It is cheaper (with coupon on its web site) and better (out door field). Check the link on my previous post.

that is ok, usually this will happen on the first few rounds of the season...when you go to the range, you hit from the matt, but when you go to the course, you hit on the grass, then you start to think about what to do, when you think too much, it will affect your swing, suggest to go to range with actual grass and practice a few times there..that should help!!

We went to Mill Run on north eastern of GTA last Sat and it was great and no rain...

The grass driving range still not open and will open this or next week. I figure that's might be the cause....as the mat will not slow/stop the swing where the grass (on course) will when hit FAT. I took some video clips and see that my swing plan is too flat, need to adjust that. Will try out when my back is better. I hurt my low back on the weekend (not because playing golf).

I think he grip is okay, I am able to touch my plam with middle fringer. I don't know about the Lie....I did not adjust the angle of the clubs..is that what you mean on LIE?

That's what I am thinking too, but never able to find the time. Any suggested good teacher around Scarborough area?

you can go the driving range and they should have some CPGAs or professional that they can recommend...I know there is one driving range at Markham/Mccowan and 14th, but not sure who is the teacher there...I am going to Markham Dome at HWY407, Woodbine...

just one round at Maple of Ballantrae this weekend, very challenging

Just play other round (after few weeks off from the first one) last Saturday, still can't break 100 (113 was the score). I have start to collect statistic and based on the stat. I have 2 to 3 put for every hole and a lot of CHIP/PITCH, No single GIR... I did hit a few very good drive from the tee.....
I particed on grass range on Monday and I think I find out problem that could help with my Iron hit...that's stand more up-righ and LIE as WAKU's BF said........set-up the ball on the close to heel instead of sweet spot.
Wait for other game on coming Sunday at Tam O'Shanter......

ha, good luck, you should confirm the lie angle again before the next round, very often that when you think you have fixed the problem with one practice session, you will realize some other problems will appear when you go to the range or course again...but glad to hear that. It's a whole new world when you break that 100 mark, GOOD LUCK, 破百係所有初學者既夢想.

played on Monday too, under 35 MPH of wind and freezing rain (~ 6-8C) at Royal woodbine, quite interesting.

Hey Whyslow, have you play on the so nice Sunday, I did. Ah..still can't break 100..but have few impressive long drive off tee, but wasted on the second shoot. Have better control with my driver now but need work more on the short game, especially putting, most of holes need 2 - 3 putts and few even 4 putts. Iron shot improved on this game, but still not that consistent with my 5 iron, but was okay with 4th.
Just found out my Taylormade sand wedge is 54 degree, no wonder I alway hit on the edge when on the club face. I am Planning to trade-in for a 56 degree Sand and get a Lob wedge, any suggestion? Planing for other game coming Sunday hope the whether will be as good as last week.

Sunday did not play, but played on Sat, still at Maple, hit 100, need one stroke to break, it was so close but yet so far...I was so close in breaking a 100, but did a triple Bogey at 17th...and screwed up the whole plan

go to golftown and say, I like cleveland lob and sand wedge, but you will need to try a few on the spot to see which one you like. Will play again this Sat and Sun but the weather is going to be bad, hopefully it is still playable...we will find out, shall report back early next week

HK keeps raining for almost 3 weeks, I can't play any game in HK; only 1 game in China, but NOT very good - score 104

Main reason: NOT stable of my Tee-off shoot

Excuse: NOT using my own clubs
