看起來最重要的變化是 live view 吧？如此一來等於將 live view 帶入了低階 DSLR 的主流。Nikon，跟進嗎？預定四月上市，預計售價機身 $799 美元，加上 EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Kit 鏡售價 $899 美元。

一如大家所料，Canon 於 PMA 前宣佈推出 EOS 400D 的後繼型號 EOS 450D。外觀上 450D 跟 400D 的分別算是輕微，最明顯是用上 3 吋大型 LCD 以及較接近中階機的手柄包裹物料。規格上 EOS 450D 卻相當進取，除了內置支援即時對焦的 Live View 功能外，更配備 1220 萬像素 CMOS、DIGIC III 處理器、14-bit RAW、9 點 AF、4% 重點測光、3.5 fps 連拍等等，可謂相當之吸引。

以往 Canon 入門機一向不設重點測光，上一代的 EOS 400D 最精細的測光模式就只有局部測光，測光部分佔畫面中央約 9%。今次 EOS 450D 提供重點測光可說是一個突破，提供 4% 的重點測光，跟 EOS 40D 的 3.5% 已經相差不遠。

除此以外，EOS 450D 亦是近期第一部加入 Live View 功能的入門單反。在 Live View 模式時，除了可以使用傳統的 AF 感應器對焦之外，同時更提供 Live AF 模式，利用 DC 對焦的原理進行即時對焦，避免對焦時畫面出現遮黑的情況。LCD 增大至 3 吋，像素同樣為 230,000，光度比 EOS 400D 提高了 30%。

影像規格方面，除了像素上的提升，EOS 450D 亦提供更多的方案以增加影處的層次。EOS 450D 支援 14-bit 影像處埋以及 RAW 儲存，令相片漸變更為順暢。此外，高光先決（Highlight Tone Priority）以及自動光度優化（Auto Lighting Optimiser）功能亦令相片的光暗位層次更加明顯，對比更為自然。

另一方面，EOS 450D 首次採用了全新型號 LP-E5 鋰電池，容量比以往的 NB-2LH 增加一半，令拍攝壽命可以增加至 500 張。配合新電池的使用，今次 Canon 亦為 EOS 450D 推出新型號電池手柄 BG-E5，直度拍攝更加得心應手。

EOS 450D 機身定價約為 $799 美元，連 EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS 鏡頭的套裝定價約為 $899 美元。

D80 無論在什麼角度都比起 400D 好得多，
今次 450D 的出現至少能夠搶回了入門版市場，
現在要看看 Nikon 怎樣應對。

What do you mean Mark 3 N ?
Canon current have 1Ds Mark 3 and 1D Mark 3 available in current market.

1Ds Mark 3 flagship camera price at around HK$56K
( Just release not long ago, I don't think Canon will adjust price so soon )

1D Mark 3 price at around HK$31K
( Maybe you should consider this instead, built quality the same as 1Ds Mark 3 but cost less. )

My 40D??

The main reason I switched from 300D to 40D is for focusing and noise control. Both 17-55 IS and 70-200 f/4 IS perform a lot better on the 40D body. AF is a lot faster and more accurate. Noise management is better on the 40D as well, but of course not as good as the 5D! If you expose the picture well, then noise is very much under control on the 40D. I just got two faster primes, Sigma 30 1.4 and Canon 85 1.8. See if they can do well on 40D la. Going FF was what I was considering before I bought the 40D, but a crop body gives me more reach right now. I spent the USD$800 difference on lenses instead.

1000D would be a better choice for newcomers.
Certainly technology much better than 400D.
Also cost less than 400D as well.

450D in the other hand a bit expensive.
I rather buy 40D instead.

1000D is suitable for beginners and easy to use?

The difference between 450D and 40D is the sizes, weight and speed.
I got an 450D because of its lightest weight amongst the Canon EOS range
of cameras but speed is slower than 40D.  One thing of using DSLR live view
is its slower speed as compare to prosumer camera.  I am too use to the latter
and found live view of 450D very irritating. Now prefers to use its view finder
instead for its faster speed.  Should have purchased that 17mm to 85mm zoom lens
instead of the kit lens 18mm - 55mm & 55mm -250mm. This tele-lens is not
convenient in build-up cities.  Now I will travel with this 450D Camera...............

Canon 剛為旗下入門單反 EOS 450D 推出新 Firmware，最新版本為 Version 1.09。新韌體針對問題作出共 3 項修正，分別為：

修正於特定情況下，AEB 自動曝光包圍功能未能正常運作的問題。
修正 Live View 模式中使用曝光模擬功能，曝光警告未能正常顯示的問題。
解決相機連接打印機或 AV 輸出時以連拍模式拍攝，影像未能正常重播的問題。
