I have just looked at my record - Canon EOS 40D - my earliest record shows IMG_0032, I can't remember if I have ever seen IMG_0001. I am sure you can show this to the reputable shop to see what they can do.

When someone tested the camera with his CF card, the camera will start the numbering from that CF card. In your case, that last number of that CF card should be IMG_3452.
