If the quality of your motherboard and power supply are bad, then it probably not a good idea not to stay it on for long time.
There are many power supplies that are cheaply-made and won't last more than 6-7 months.

fans in the front and rear, high quality hardware, large 12 inches fan directing cool air to the front of the case, then no problem
