For senior post, you don't get to meet the HR but directly deal with the top management over lunch or dinner.

For the big MNC, usaually you cannot get rid of the HR in the recruitment process. Unless the post is very very senior.

Yes, for managers & department head.  VP level will go thru head hunting firms & meet with top management rather than Head of HR

Yes. You may get a good compensation package even when you are being laid off.

Re: 郭兄, don't be upset, and please be patience. When I was being laid off few years ago, I took more than a year to look for a job.

年小時候, 我也經常"搵工跳曹" 一來可以increase exposure & tried something difference, 二來薪金亦有所增長. 三來是opportunity cost 低 (輸得起)
但當年是經濟起飛時代, 與現今有所不同.
年過三十, 已少有轉工的念頭.

而家無可奈何, 我尋日見到舊工有post 出, 再去見過做住先。而且政府又唔係一定會請我做，今年真係運濟......
係唔係尼個社會運作都係希望人地做緊一份工去搵第二份工先馨香呢?

I am much elder than you.  我在80年代未己在江湖打滾.

而家市道同去年差好遠 ，我個同事去年年頭被新上司逼走，轉頭就搵到工(有2-3個offer)，人工仲多左。我就仲做緊無quit，一邊做一邊搵工，今年起搵左8個月工先有一個offer(今年面試亦只有4個，得一個間公司有offer)。好彩個offer比現在多50%(現在做緊果份工是underpaid的，一年加得2%人工,已做左近4年)。奉勸巴打如有唔係已經有份工做緊，要有心理準備下調expected salary先有機會interview。

我己經下調0左la, 但係係因為轉field 先肯下調，而且而家叫價係低過上一份工0忝0架
但依然無interview

而家已經快將10月，開始踏入人力市場的淡季，通常有工做緊的人都做到等埋份年尾花紅/雙糧先走，而今年經濟差左，d公司亦會審慎d,重新睇返公司有無需要同budget開新位，所以會比較難有feeback。Keep on trying & good luck!
