Just relative. Nothing compared to AUD, GBP!

HK Gov't is selling HKD to push it down. There is huge demand for HKD and selling USD.

Does it mean investors are considering HK as the shelter??

Why? Not reflected in equities. Can hold USD wor.

I am wondering investors are selling USD and buying more HKD, but the HKD is not in the stock markets. So, the HKD should be in the banking deposit, and earning 1% interest rate, which is rare.

So, I am thinking if the hot money is betting for the un-pledge of HKD against USD, or preparing something evil.

The HKD one month deposit rate is only 0.9%. Banks are over-flowed with money, but not willing to lend out.

Large amt of inflow of USD->HKD now, and large amt of outflow of HKD->USD later???

There should be some disturbance coming if:
1) Citibank collapses or be taken over...
2) US's giant motor companies collapse

(1) or (2), they will make USD stronger in the short period as shelter after cashing all assets.

because our 金管局 lost 700,000,000,000HKD~ don't u get the beauty/ugliness of the USD peg?
