Sigma is better §@ªÌ: Bonkinasia ®É¶¡: 2009-2-20 08:48
Same situation last time when I am considering purchasing between these 2 brands.
Sigma 18-200, f:3.5 - f:6.3 with OS (Optical Stabiliser) .
Cannon called Image Stabiliser (IS) while Nikkon called Variation Reduction (VR).
Low speed lenses with aperture F:4 and above better opt for OS features.
Tamron 18-250 does not have OS, not doubt it is lighter and cheaper.
Finally I purchase Sigma 18-200mm lenses instead. Since then I have been using this set of lenses during my travel in the mainland. The photos taken are shape and good as comparable with my existing Canon kit lenses.
But I am still looking for 28 - 70 mm F:2.8 with macro and Standars lenses 50mm f:1.2. These 2 higher speed lenses are rather expensive. Hope that this poor economy will help to lower the price of these lenses before I make purchase again. §@ªÌ: hamninewest ®É¶¡: 2009-2-25 18:24
For ÂøµP lens I think Sigma is better. I have compared the two brand and found that Sigma lens is sharper than Tamron. §@ªÌ: peninsula ®É¶¡: 2009-2-25 21:49
