can anyone please explain to me what is the black CELLPHONE sized thing on US army's left chest, I've saw it on most war movies.

Do you mean something similar to the attached picture?

It is the soldier's Inter-squad Communication Radio.

Or, the Motorola MX300R Speaker/Microphone, with PTT (Push-To-Talk) switch?

Note, this Speaker/Microphone was being used by the Army Ranger in the movie "Black Hawk Down".
