Make sure your motherboard chip set can support duel core.
Personally I feel 2.8G is not slow at all. My daughter is using my older 3G single core P4 and playing 3D games ok enough.
Sometime the system bottleneck is not always on the CPU. If you feel the 3D games are ²¿úﲿúïËÝ it is more likely you need a faster display card.
