【orisun.com專訊】泰國實施「另類外匯管制」，拖累股市暴瀉14%。泰國財金官員隨即開會商討如何「補鑊」。泰國證券交易所總裁Patareeya Benjapolchai於會後表示，將會撤銷外資投放在泰國股市的資金，最少被凍結1年的限制。

泰國央行昨日突然頒布新例，要求金融機構今日起扣起30%的新造外幣存款，持有有關款項的外國投資者，在1年內提取資金，須繳交凍結金額三分之一的罰款，藉此遏抑熱錢流入炒高泰銖。然而，外資視之為另類外匯管制，紛紛沽售泰銖及泰股。

This move by Thailand's monetary authority was a classic example of bad PR preparation. I suppose they never thought of how the market would react.

It is why we call it an emerging market. Many of its financial and political infra-structure are immatured. But high risk high return.

I switched all my Thai fund to some others before the taken over by the new Thai military government.

The Thai funds response is not much... So if buy direct fm the Thai stock market, it will be 15% loss.

Because of this incident, lots of arbitrage opportunities took place in the Thai market.
